Learn the old ways to enhance your digital photography. Don't let your camera be the calculator in you photographs. This 3 Day workshop will include photographing in the Wind River Mountain Range nestled in Pinedale, Wyoming, learning how to develop your film, and learning how to make photographic prints from your film negatives. This workshop is a hands on workshop and you will get to use film cameras, medium and large format. You will get to take your photos and negatives home that you made. Film and film cameras will be provided for use.

Itinerary

Day One:  The workshop officially begins at 2 p.m. We will meet at the Cabins near the Green River Recreation located 39 miles North of Pinedale. Directions Below

Day Two & Day 3:  Sunrise photos of the Lake, Breakfast, then you will be fitted to the perfect horse. We will ride to different areas in the mountains to photograph. Lunch will be provided up on one of the scenic areas that we stop to photograph. Come back to the lodge for dinner, and do sunset and star trails at the lake. At the cabins we will develop the film and make the prints.

Lodging

You will be staying at the cabins 3 miles from the lakes. Please bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

Directions

From Rock Springs Direction: Go North through Pinedale on HWY 189. Turn right onto WY-352 W (right before underpass) Travel for 25.3 mi. Road turns into a dirt road. Continue onto Green River Lakes Rd going straigth for 18.5 mi. Turn right onto Forest Rd 650A 223 ft. Turn left to stay on Forest Rd 650A 0.4mi.

Learn More About the Green River Lakes Area

Green River Lakes are part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest Recreation Area. They are located 52 miles north of Pinedale at an elevation of around 8,000 feet. Activities include hiking, horseback rides, fishing and boating.The Green River Lakes are nestled behind a natural terminal-moraine dam scoured out by glacial action and surrounded by the stark, cold, steep topography of the Wind River Range.The Green River Lakes are considered the headwaters of the Green River; the chief tributary to the Colorado River.The Green River Lakes are also the starting point for many backpacking trails including the northern entrance to the frequently used Highline Trail, which extends along most of the Wind River Range and follows the spine of the Continental Divide south to Big Sandy Opening.
Visitors have a view of stunning Squaretop Mountain rising 11,695 feet into the air. The mountain looms over pristine blue-green lakes. Area wildlife includes large game animals such as moose, elk, deer, and pronghorn as well as hawks, bald eagles, fox, wolverines, marmot and more.

This is also Grizzly and Black Bear county so please use appropriate caution.

It can snow any day of the year in the Wind River Range! Visitors should come prepared for cold weather.
